Start with the official document

Open the official APPSCCE 2026 syllabus PDF on the APPSC site. This page does not transcribe it in full and should never replace it. Where our guidance and the PDF differ, follow the PDF.

How to use the PDF effectively

  • Print or save it and number each topic line so you can tick items off.
  • Mark each line as strong, partial or untouched after an honest first read.
  • Group lines into weekly blocks instead of studying in the order printed.
  • Note any topic named explicitly for Arunachal Pradesh or the Northeast and give it its own notes.
  • Re-check the PDF and the APPSC site before the exam in case anything was revised.

General Studies: topic areas to organise around

For Paper I, most candidates find it useful to keep a notebook for each of these areas. Coverage and weight in the exam are defined by the official syllabus, so treat this as a filing system, not a forecast.

  • Polity and governance, including the Constitution and local administration.
  • Environment and ecology, with attention to Northeast biodiversity.
  • Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast: people, districts, history, economy, culture.
  • Indian and world history.
  • Economy, planning and development basics.
  • General science and everyday technology.
  • Physical, human and economic geography.
  • Current affairs and culture, revised in monthly cycles.

CSAT: skills to build

Paper II rewards habit more than memory. As a study guide, work on three skill families. We do not claim how many questions come from each; check official instructions for that.

  • Comprehension: read passages quickly, then test your inference against the text.
  • Logical reasoning: series, arrangements, statements and conclusions.
  • Numeracy and data interpretation: percentages, ratios, averages, tables and charts.

Turn the plan into practice

After one pass over a topic block, test it. The General Studies mocks and CSAT mocks give you timed practice, and solutions after submission show where notes are thin.
